If the Temple of Peril is on your itinerary, mark the date: the attraction will close from 4 January 2027 for several months of work. Head to Adventureland in Disneyland Park to enjoy its loop before the refurbishment begins. The work will also cover the lighting at the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost shop and in the surrounding areas.

A refurbishment that goes far beyond the rocks
Opened in 1993, the attraction is set for its biggest refurbishment since it first opened. Some of the rock formations will be rebuilt, while the supporting structures, rails and walkways will receive thorough maintenance. Railings and wooden and metal surfaces will be replaced, and set pieces will be dismantled and restored.
The queue will also get a refresh: the wooden bridges will be rebuilt, and the staircase ornaments, camp and off-road vehicle will be restored. The scenic lighting will be modernised, with spotlights replaced and lighting effects updated in the attraction, the shop and nearby areas. The stated aim is to preserve the temple’s identity while ensuring its facilities last.
What to plan for your day at the park
The Temple of Peril will therefore be inaccessible during the work, which is expected to last several months. If you’re visiting Disneyland Paris from 4 January 2027, plan your route through Adventureland without this roller coaster and keep an eye on the park map as you plan your day. No reopening date has been announced yet.
The attraction is famous for its loop, a first for a roller coaster at a Disney park. It also had a brief stint running backwards: between April 2000 and November 2004, the trains travelled in reverse. For those curious about Disney history, Business & Marchés looks back at this change and the major work ahead.
